Hall of Fame of the Trotter - The oldest race track in America and the Hall of Fame of the Trotter are located in Goshen, just 6 miles from Black Bear Campground. The track is operational for a short time in July, and the museum is open all year. It is state-of-the-art, interactive and exciting.

Brotherhood Winery - Ten miles from the campground is Brotherhood Winery, the oldest winery in America, with wine tasting and many special events.

Museum Village - Ten miles from the campground is Museum Village, a restored village from 1850. There you will see how Americans lived in the olden days, with demonstrations in making candles, soap and brooms. You will visit an old pharmacy, general store, blacksmith shop, one room schoolhouse, stockade and many other buildings. During the summer, there are many special events, such as Civil War battle re-enactments.

Sugar Loaf Art & Crafts Village - Eleven miles from the campground is Sugar Loaf Art & Crafts Village, where you can watch craftsmen make the high quality artifacts which are for sale in the galleries.

Woodbury Common - Fifteen miles from the campground is Woodbury Common, the largest concentration of premium factory outlet stores in the United States, with 220 separate stores. Almost every premium brand has an outlet store at Woodbury, whether it be designer clothing, jewelry, luggage, kitchenware, home furnishings, toys, linens, books, electronics and more. People come from all over the world to shop at Woodbury Common.

Orange County Choppers - 18 miles from the campground is the Orange County Choppers workshop and showroom. Insurance restrictions prohibit Black Bear Campground from having any motorcycle or similar vehicle within the campground.

U.S. Military Academy - 23 miles from the campground is the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. At the academy is a visitors center and musuem. Bus tours of the grounds lasting one and two hours are available. U.S. Military Academy at West Point is renowned as one of the world's preeminent leader development institutions, West Point's mission is to educate, train, and inspire the Corps of Cadets so that each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of Duty, Honor, Country. The student body, or Corps of Cadets, numbers 4,400 and each year approximately 1,000 cadets join the Long Gray Line as they graduate and are commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.

Storm King Art Center - Storm King Art Center, located just north of West Point, with over 400 acres of outdoor statuary. Appalachian Trail - For those who like hiking, the campground is less than 15 miles from the Appalachian Trail. The best nearby fishing is at Greenwood Lake, an 8 mile long lake located just one mile from the Appalachian Trail. There are more than a dozen golf courses which are open to the public and within a half hour’s ride. Horseback riding is nearby.

For those who like fresh fruits and vegetables, there are farmers markets and “pick your own” farms open from June to the late fall. October is a lovely time of the year with the changing of the color of the leaves.
